My friend was running late for our lunch date so I stood about outside Rosie Tate's checking out the clientele. Lots of blokes in high vis jackets and hard hats wandered in but just as many sombre suited types did as well. It's quite spacious inside with about five tables lining the windows and some more comfortable seating outside the cafe. This would suggest that they expect it to be heaving at certain times although whenever I 've walked past in my lunch break I've never seen that many people inside.
They do have a good selection of hot foods and sandwiches that you can takeaway or eat in. I had a really nice pastrami and pickle sandwich which was £2.50 (I think) and I noticed the other big baps were sizeable and also reasonably priced.
I liked it in there so I'm definitely going back to try out a few other thngs. I have my eye on the microwaveable takeaway boxes.

I'm not sure there's any redeeming qualities about this cafe other than the fact that it offers fast coffee and pastries. But you can get those elsewhere too -- at a higher quality level. I should've just purchased something at the Borough Market down the road, frankly.

I had a coffee and cinnamon danish. The danish was okay. The icing was the best part. I finished most of it aside from the stale parts. The coffee, however, was pretty bland and tasted burnt. I handed it mostly back to the girl and said I didn't want to trash it since it was still so full.

    I'd say pass.

Mediocre. Pre-made sandwiches, that they heat up. Moderate coffee. Good pastries. Rubbish service.

I have passed this cafe numerous times on the way to the Tate Modern and stopped in for the first time today to grab something quickly on the go.  The ambiance is like that of a canteen - mediocre and nothing exciting. I personally wouldn't go there for any sort of sit-down service, as there any many more far exciting with much better quality food and service, but this place suffices for the quick take away when necessary.  Prices are cheap and service is fast.  The food is mediocre.  It's not very memorable in any way.

The Rosie Tate cafe is a pleasant little cafe and is constantly filled with two types of people; men in high vis jackets and hard hats and serious looking suits. I fall into neither category so felt a little out of place. It is very spacious with lots of metal interior and a lots of seating though its not the sort of cafe where you would sit down and eat your lunch - more of a grab and go sort of place. They have a good selection of hot foods and sandwiches at very reasonable prices plus microwavable boxes of Chinese food which look very nice indeed. A great place to get some nice, hearty and cheap food.
